ETS-Lindgren¡¯s Model 2005 Light Duty Azimuth Positioner is designed to provide azimuth rotation of a lightweight test object. It is intended primarily as an inexpensive solution for basic azimuth (polar) pattern measurements of passive and active devices. The Model 2005 is fully compatible with our EMQuest¢â & EMQuest Lite Antenna Pattern Measurement Software for passive antenna pattern measurement. For pattern measurement of active devices, a software upgrade to our fully-functional standard EMQuest¢â EMQ-100 Antenna Pattern Measurement Software is recommended.
Positioning The Model 2005 offers positioning resolution of 0.1¡Æ. Objects can be rotated in a continuous 360¡Æ clockwise/counterclockwise direction at one of four preset speeds. Continuous rotation may require an optional SMA RF rotary joint. Low RF Coupling The Model 2005 unit has been carefully designed from the frame up to offer minimal physical obstruction to RF fields. The motor and control unit is enclosed in an RF shielded enclosure and the entire drive assembly is designed to fit ina 2¡¯x2¡¯ (61cm) square; compatible with the base dimensions of typical microwave absorber material. A two-inch (5.08cm) flat lossy foam absorber block covers the upper body surface of the drive box and turntable for additional RF isolation from the Device Under Test (DUT). An expanded polystyrene foam column supports DUTs of up to 25 lbs. (11.3 kgs.). PC Control The Model 2005 is controlled directly from a PC via a low cost RS-232 serial interface. A simple command set is provided for development of controlling software, or the unit may be interfaced to our EMQuest¢â EMQ-100 or EMQ-100 Lite Antenna Pattern Measurement Software packages for fully automated data acquisition.
