Typical applications include communication lines entering or leaving shielded rooms, computer rooms, communication terminal rooms, and Sensitive Compartmental Information Facilities (SCIF).
To ensure the shielding and security integrity, all communication lines must be filtered just as all power lines must be filtered.
Communication filters are used in transmission lines such as telephone, telefax, and similar information circuits with 600 ohm line-to-line impedance and 300 ohm line-to-ground impedance.
These filters are true low pass filters with a well defined passband and stopband.
Similarly, signal line filters with different characteristics are used for public address systems, control lines, thermostats, monitors, fire alarms, CCTV's, and other applications.
Data communication filters are used for data transmission as specified in EIA STD RS-232C and other applicable specifications. Several different passbands are available to accommodate various standard data rates, such as for RS-422 and 10 base T applications.
The LTC series of communication and control line filters are available in two different case configurations as illustrated in FIGURE 2. The LTC-X640 series filters multiple circuits, to handle 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 wires, and are designed for stand-alone, individual mounting. The LTC-X640 series filters may be supplied with an optional threaded conduit hub for penetration of a shielded enclosure.
The LTC-2650 series filters are dual circuit filters designed for mounting in LPTC shielded panels.
